Weird example for my recent week in BKK. I had 2 expiring 35K coupons so booked the following:

Athenee Hotel: December 16 - 22

With the overlapping stays at the W Hotel Bangkok from Dec 16 - 17 and Dec 21 - 22. The weird thing was that the Dec 16 - 17 and Dec 21 - 22 stay at W Bangkok posted, however since it was overlapping stay if I wanted Athenee hotel to post (in terms of nights + points), I would had to e-mail and ask them to remove the Dec 21 - 22 stay.

Question: I understand that both my W BKK were overlapping stays but why would the Dec 16 - 17 post correctly and Dec 21 - 22 have to be removed?
