I read recently that The Fat Duck will be introducing a conventional a la carte menu. Multi-course tasting menus are rapidly going out of fashion in the UK with many restaurants abandoning them. I never enjoyed them and welcome the return to sensible, classical cooking.
It sounded more ominous than that, almost as if the restaurant is closing soon. They have not been doing well financially.
"The seasonal à la carte menus will feature four starters, four mains, and a trio of desserts, including several of Heston’s most iconic dishes, which will be served for the final time at the restaurant."
