What is your alternative use of the miles you would spend on the membership?
Thank you very much for the loyalty points bonus answer! I could use the card for Global Entry which would help somewhat as well. To date I have not used AA miles for anything yet, although I would like to use it for business class flights in the future (although that seems to require gaming somewhat based on dates of travel which is tougher currently given work and family schedules).

It is such a poor redemption value that it would only make sense if you didn't redeem AA miles for travel. It is very easy to get at least 2 cents per mile (and I often get 3), even on short notice domestics, unlike with DL/UA. I just redeemed 12.5k in lieu of a $350+ one-way BOS-DFW the other day (for a family member) when the necessary flight was down to J1Y3. I can't imagine spending 75k for a $595 value.
I appreciate your perspective! I have not used AA miles to date and just banked them for a rainy day. It is good to know that this is a poor use of the miles. Your mileage redemption example is great to see.

I understand trying to save some $$, but if you're traveling enough to use an AC membership then just get the Citi Exec for $595 and be done with it.
Spending 75k miles to save $595 is a horrible redemption, as noted.
Thank you for the response on the SUB for the different cards! You have been very helpful with the lounge access questions when flying internationally as well. I owe you a beer in a lounge someday somewhere!

But just having a quiet place at the airport is quite helpful, and the rebooking assistance can make it money well-spent. But not my primary card.
Agreed, having quiet place to spread out a bit and work is very helpful. However, I'm still debating if I'll use the lounge enough vs going to a restaurant to eat beforehand either outside of the airport or at the airport. I'm not 100% sure, but it would also be nice to have the AAngels if things go awry.
