I'm not getting enough use out of my Amex Delta Gold to pay another annual fee.

I would like to use this year's $100 Delta Stays Credit though. Do you know when the hotels stay will post to my account? Is it immediately or after I check-in? My card annual fee will post on January 8th, 2025. If I book a Delta Stay before that date with a check-in after January 8th, will I still be eligible for the $100 credit? thanks
