That's bizarre. I don't think I have ever had my seat poached but I've had the genuine version of this conversation a decent number of times (confusing 2 versus 3, thinking E is the window, etc.). Hard to see this one as genuine confusion though.
Unless you're the rare person who decides to book long haul business the very first time you board a commercial aircraft in your entire life, you know that A is a window seat.
