Amex Platinum - direct airline booking vs OTA
Question about using Amex Plat for booking flights:

Are there any disadvantages to using an OTA ?

Normally I book direct with the airlines and have rested easy knowing the flight is protected.

I can't seem to find a way to book direct with the carrier as Google flights shows mixed carriers.

I know I won't get the 5x MR points - J class booking:
