As promised i paid a visit to the Ren to keep you informed of the progress.
Just a quick talk over at the Kimpton de Witt across the street, revealed Viking River Cruises has repledged their custom to the the Renaissance hotel.
Some Viking RiverCruise sailings will have their guests enjoy their pre/post Amsterdam cruise stays back at the Ren.
Seen from the Kimpton de Witt hotel across the street:
one can observe that the Ren has started its next phase in renovations in those rooms facing Spuistraat / Hekelveld
Rooms facing Spuistraat / Hekelveld are taken out of inventory
Koepel café at the corner of Spuistraat and Kattengat is still open

To the right of the entrance is lobby seating area aswell as reception
To the left of the entrance is the concierge / bell desk Say what you want, but Americans should feel very safe at the Ren.
I was looking around and security came by to say "to bugger off if you are not a guest or staying at the hotel"
So unfortunately couldn't explore more...
