Quite sad to read on this holiday night.I have fond memories of my brief stay there
and they were fantastic to me just a few years ago.
This makes me no longer wish to return.

Historically this upsell scheming didn’t exist at Hyatt to the best of my memory
except in two hotels the Park Hyatt Sydney circa 2002 and
when the Park Hyatt New York opened back in Aug of 2014
creating the worst upsell to elites in the history of the company.
I debated with others who thought it was a good idea and some who felt it was fully justified despite their loyalty.
However the more folks bite at these offers the more emboldened revenue managers look
to do the upsells and or game the system.Where does it end?

Ive always maintained have great food and beverage and other revenue streams to sell beds linens etc
or sell suites to other non top tier members.
Seems Hyatt has even given up in many key areas dining club lounges and other.
It runs the risk of losing customers and relationships.

I’m sick of destination fees and upsells and boycott any hotel that pulls that nonsense with me.
Unless they are the absolute the last word in a premium experience that no one else can duplicate
Having done somewhere over million dollars in these guest programs imo
a positive mutual relationship is not one of a used car parking lot business culture with gotchas and
add ons especially after decades of loyalty.Happy Holidays all
