The new check-in system blocks almost anything after cut-off. You are correct in needing a supervisor, but I'm told that 45 minutes is the "hard" cut off and has to be done from a Sabre/Image unit and not the ipads... agents do have a bit of leeway at like 48/49 minutes - but your bags are marked with "V" for vol-sep (voluntary separation) and if *anything* happens to your bags, AS is free of any and all liabiilty (which sucks hard).
