I disagree that this describes some sort of right an airline passenger is "entitled" to.
Private jet, maybe. When your selfishness impacts other people, at least pretend you are part of a civilzed society for three minutes.

I see one person mentioning anything about doing this so the GA (who I think would be an hourly and not a salaried employee) can get home early, and lots of people having problems with it for other reasons.
I welcome OP to ask for the GA's name and lodge a complaint with UA management, naming GA and highlighting that this is wholly inappropriate.
This is certainly what I would do.
I encourage that, and hopefully the GA will get some kind words from management about how his/her efforts to get flights out on time and get the aircraft, other passengers and the crew on their way are appreciated.
