I dont think earned PQP is reliably posted the week after the qualifying spend is made on the Chase card. I posted 100 pqp worth of qualifying net spend (over and above any credit I got back on the card) early LAST week and it was not posted this week at the beginning of the week. The date you purchased may not trigger the PQPs. It depends on how / date the vendor finalized the purchase. The true transaction date can be the same day or days later, People have been burned by making purchases on 30 Jan, that did not finalize until 1 January.
Paying the balance has no impact on when the finalized transaction post.
With status, it can be risky waiting to the last minute.
