But… the cost for this offer looks to me very unreasonable, just to try to reduce my expenditure I raised a question for IHG.

But if its will they reduce the amount of points needed to buy as part of the offer because you've since earned more qualifying points then that's been answered already - and, from comments up thread - the answer will be 'no'
