Almost all long-haul flights use door 2L. So on a flight with F it’s not possible to let F disembark before the mini J cabin. Ideally crew would then hold back the main J cabin(s) for F, but that isn’t always practicable.
I personally wish they had kept the system they introduced during Covid. Disembarking felt so much smoother and not the mob approach with people jumping out of seats as soon as sat belt sign is off….if they wait that long…
At a minimum, they can do what some others do and enforce disembarking by cabin….not sure if QR still do but was impressed by their approach.
