Why, exactly? I can tell if this will happen on arrival or not just by how good the crew have been during the flight. Practicality has little to do with it, it’s generally a question of whether the crew are interested in following the service standard or not.

Personally, I don’t think what happens in a Tesco has any relevance to what happens in a longhaul first cabin, but this explains the cognitive dissonance I get when some posters here talk about BA F, I suppose.
