Please pardon pedantic nit-picking, it’s not intended in any way as disrespectful or offensive, merely educational .

The quote above implies that the Resort credit was successfully received. If so, unless dining at a 5 star hotel restaurant is considered a hardship or unpleasant, it doesn’t meet the common definitions of “taking one for the team”. Maybe “guinea pig” or “frequent flyer zero” ?

- “The phrase “Taking one for the Team” is an idiom that means to sacrifice one's own interests or well-being for the benefit of the team.”
- “take one for the team: willingly undertake an unpleasant task or make a personal sacrifice for the collective benefit of one's friends or colleagues.”
- “take one for the team: idiom, to agree to do something unpleasant that you do not really want to do, or not have something that you want, in order to help or be kind to other people in a group:”
- “take one for the team: idiomatic, informal) To accept some chore, hardship, or punishment for the sake of one's friends or colleagues.”

- “guinea pig: a person or thing used as a subject for experiment.”
- “Calling someone a 'guinea pig' implies that you are doing something to them without being sure of what the results will be.”

- “The meaning of PATIENT ZERO is a person identified as the first to become infected with an illness or disease in an outbreak.”
