Very pleasant place. Highly recommended.
My wife and I recently completed a three-night stay at this lovely hotel. Good location right on the river. Walking along the river to your left, there's a Spaghetti Factory restaurant about seven minutes to your left and a small cafe even closer, plus I understand (though did not look for) other restaurants in the apartment/residential area beyond that. To the right, the pretty path goes for a few miles, mostly along the river.
The hotel stlaff is friendly and helpful. The room was fine. We paid a bit extra for the river view with a patio. I'd recommend that, including a room with a covered patio if possible, if you're in Portland during a rainy time of year (which is often).
The room was spacious enough. It had a coffee machine as well as a microwave and frig (not stocked). And a small desk, Also, the one we booked had a pull-out couch.
Good USB and outlet connections.
The lobby has several seating/chatting areas. It flows into the restaurant, which has a fairly basic but decent breakfast and dinner menu. For the former, you order at the counter though they bring it to your table. For the latter, I'm not sure if there's wait staff service that takes your order. The dinner menu is mainly salads, sandwiches, burgers and the like, though there was a salmon option.
There's also a secluded seating nook with a few chairs at the end of the hallway on the second floor, overlooking the lobby.
Off of the lobby, there's also a decently stocked pantry with ice cream, other snacks, several microwavable items and a few choices of white and red wines.
The gym was pretty good and spacious. A good number of machines, plus weights.
I don't know Portland geography well, but the hotel seems well situated for accessing various roads, including being five minutes from I-5. Also near the Oregon Health and Science University and associated hospital.
As a Hilton Gold, I got a $15 per person credit, good for the restaurant and pantry area.
There seemed to be several low-lying commercial buildings in the immediate area, which was quite quiet. It's not downtown, which means it doesn't have downtown's options and potential hassles.
The only possible fly in the oinment was that on a couple of our night we heard some chatter from either an adjoining room or upstairs. So maybe thin walls? But maybe unusually loud neighbors. With ear plugs, they were no problem.
Regardless, we very much liked our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.
