Well.... I've completed my last flight of the year (BNA-CLT, oddly the same segment as it was end of 2023 though this isn't a regular city pair of mine). For a variety of work, personal, and adventure reasons, this year was most certainly my most prolific in terms of flying. No, I don't work for an airline. All of my tickets were paid, though I do work in the aviation/airports industry.
You will see why I do make it home every week to my regular StretchLab appointment.
Living in Charlotte area, every time coming to the airport is almost like a different airport.
Number of AA Short Ribs eaten: I don't want to know. Number of times in row 1 of a 777-300: 2.
A CRJ-200 with 30 seats... Contour Airlines to Kirksville, MO.
Sums up my first (and absolute last) experience with WestJet
Silver City, NM... the pilots are deicing the plane with a bug sprayer. I'm the only passenger going to ABQ.
This is a lot of my travel.
JetBlue inaugural flight to Presque Isle, ME
Only pax on Cape Air to Hyannis, rode co-pilot seat.
I've taken over 200 photos this year of broken moving walkways at CLT.
Hawaiian 787 inaugural flight (SFO-HNL) as part of my dad and I flying round the world.
Hey, it's Scam Chui!
Hawaii was my 50th state. I also finished flying into all 50 states this year (with North Dakota and Montana being the last ones on that metric)
Did a thing...
16 hours in a United 737-800 (but in Business Class, thankfully)
Best airline
Eating horse on Air Astana, domestic in Kazakhstan
Spent some time at this school, very great and educational meeting some amazing young folks in Kazakhstan
Spirit Airlines first flight to BHM
Spirit Airlines Gold Status is the best FF status in the US and you will not convince me otherwise. Just having a phone number that answers on the 2nd or 3rd ring every single call and their willingness to whip out a credit card, walk me over to another airline and buy me a ticket in IROP is heavenly.
This is how I make Diamond
I rent a lot of cars where this is where I am told to find the key.
Because it's at places like this.
You wish you had these socks.
Me in an plane, arriving to my "home" airport - Concord, NC on Avelo's inaugural flight from Lakeland, FL (I can be from my living room, thru security, to the gate in 20 minutes)
Denver Air Connection inaugural from Muskegon, MI
SVP of DAC (and our Captain)
VP of Inflight for DAC (and our F/A that day) with what is the best snack basket in the industry. Flight was full of city and county execs, those of us who helped, etc.
Avelo's first flight from USA (Concord, NC)
My 300th US airport I've flown in/out of on an airline - MSN.
CLT is still broken.
Brand new plane (you could smell the pleather)
I get a lot of water cannons...
Sensing a theme...
Breeze comes to New Haven
Ended up on the Sun Country inaugural flight to Billings
Wolf Point, MT
Siesta Motel in Havre, MT
So retro but the cleanest (and most reasonably priced at $70) hotel room I've stayed at in recent memory
Harrison, AR. The airline agent had my rental car keys (and it was pulled up next to the terminal door)
When you travel a lot of America, you do sometimes see things that make you stop and cringe.
Hotel Seville in Harrison, AR where I was one of two guests for the night two weeks ago
Jackson, TN
The last photo on my camera roll.... from yesterday afternoon.
