Marriott Hongqiao closing?

I was supposed to be staying there in a couple of weeks ( my first time at this location), but I just received this email today:

We are contacting you about your upcoming reservation at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Hongqiao. Effective December 23, 2024, this hotel will be temporarily closed. Your reservation will be relocated to Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel which is in proximity and comparable to the hotel you originally booked. We regret the inconvenience but hope you will be able to take advantage of the alternate accommodations.

Anyone know what happened? That is very short notice.
And, BTW, I rebooked at the Ren myself for a lower rate than my original transferred rate.
