I booked a suite and received one on the 8th floor, one floor below the very small club lounge. The suite as another review said was more of a huge room than a suite with separate rooms. It had sweeping views of the entrance to the airport and parking lots to the distance. No elite recognition, no amenity, no welcome letter, and no bellman to assist with luggage or any offer of assistance from the front desk. While the late 2000s-era Marriott has been updated, much of the furnishings were original and had that 2006-2010 Marriott look. The TV was only 49 inches. There were no newspapers or any magazines in the hotel. Not even a Montreal tourist magazine. A request for a newspaper went unfulfilled. Room was very clean, except the walk-in shower which had visible mold and mildew. The lounge seems very small for an airport hotel. I imagine it gets very crowded at busy times of the year. No service at night when I stayed even though the lounge was advertised as being open. You could grab a soda (if your preferred kind was still in stock) but that was it. Small but nice gym. Half the spa reception is the gym. So you exercise in front of the receptionist or spa attendant. It's a little weird. The pool is nice. Be advised that the windows are not tinted for privacy. From the club lounge on the 9th floor you could see into every room on the whole side of the hotel. Only the rooms that fully closed their curtains had any privacy. Just something to consider if you're changing clothes or doing something you don't want other people to see. The same for the rooms facing the road and the airport drop-off area. Restaurant is trying to be fine dining. Menu is a weird mix of hotel staples, French-inspired food and then Mediterranean food/Middle Eastern. Ravioli with cod? I ordered a grilled octopus starter and a caesar salad with salmon as the main course. The food was cooked and presented well. No complaints. Just weird combinations on the menu. $29 (about US$20) for a glass of mediocre champagne. How do you not have Canadian sparkling wine by the glass? $20 wine for $85. That's 300+ percent markup. All things considered, the location is unbeatable. But the rest of the hotel is average, especially with the high nightly rates. It's priced at a higher level than the overall standard. Bonvoy elite recognition is nonexistent. Some parts of the room feel a little tired and there's no excuse for mold or mildew in the shower. Do housekeepers not report this when they service the room? I probably wouldn't stay here again, unless I had a flight before 10 in the morning.
