I think the earlier poster was referring to one of the swings and roundabouts. 3 month out availability is great for some, too late for others.
I'm still getting to grips with the overall net impacts of the changes, but there are some pluses. The big change for me is I'll now have to plan in Economy flights to: a) Allow a return leg to be booked; and, b) Stay close to the 75k limit on the CC vouchers (I'm nervous investing in Silver as 150k points ain't that helpful anyway on the routes I use).
The loss of saver prices close in post 30 October and the big disparity between saver availability outbound versus inbound are the big downsides (over and above Premium and Upper having mostly more than doubled compared to before, much more than off-setting the extra 75% points on flights).
So, jury still out on the VFC changes, but meantime for me its more to BA/Oneworld with the much more valuable and flexible avios currency and status levels.
