Thank you for the response. Its unlikely I'd put together another 780 TP within the year given my travel plans are mainly around Asia, and silver doesn't have that much value, so I think I'll just stick to using the 2-4-1 voucher for this trip instead. 90k Avios & £475 gets me a Y return to LAS from Manchester (my base) with 1 stop, so no need for positioning.
No problem.
Out of interest, what does Gold give you that Silver doesn’t? I know the published benefits but from where I sit Silver seems to be the sweet spot with lounges, guesting privileges and seat reservation at the time of booking? Gold seems to offer a tiny bit more but (IMO) I wouldn’t say that Silver doesn’t have much value. I’d say the jump from Bronze to Silver is huge but Silver to Gold isn’t. I guess it’s down to the individual though.
One more point. 90,000 Avios and £475 seems an awful lot for an Economy ticket to Las Vegas? At 1p per point that makes it nearly £1400. How much is a cash fare? Are there any J options?
