It would seem that Marriott International has eliminated the brand standard that properties have bar soap in the bathroom. Neither the Paris Marriott Charles de Gaulle Airport Hotel (leased and managed by Marriott) nor the Renaissance Paris Republique Hotel (franchised) provide soap or have soap upon request. This is a recent change. I was told by both properties that they were no longer required to have bar soap. The soap has been replaced by liquid hand wash in multi-use dispensers. This is yet another cost-cutting move. I'm old enough to remember (just before the pandemic) when properties were required to have a bar of soap in the shower/bathtub and a second bar of soap at the sink. And on a side note, neither property had clocks.
