The new A350 deliveries have faster wifi but there is no way to guarantee which bird you'll be getting if in 35G. You could easily get one of the early deliveries (they are the designations b-lra, etc. I was on b-lrd recently and as is case with those early 35Gs, wifi speed was dreadful borderline useless.)
I agree with everything you have said except for the point about wifi, I think CX has consistently trash wifi regardless of type but IMO the 777 is basically useless. My last HND-HKG I was lucky to get a WhatsApp message out. I can at least get some work done on the A350s, most of the time.
