Today picked up a car at a Hertz local site, 2 day rental, $55 all in, made some time ago.
As I'm driving away happened to glance at my printed paperwork, and was stunned to see it said $168/day, $384.51 total. About drove off the road.

Turned around, went back to Hertz, rep pulled up my reservation and those crazy numbers were in my reservation!!! I showed my email confirmation when I originally booked it, same reservation number... they adjusted my rental agreement total from $384.51 to $55.
How does that even happen (rhetorical)...
