I see from your link that J&K is to get a Voco in Srinagar. I take that as good news, although I'm baffled by the brand and was totally unimpressed, mildly irritated, by the only Voco I've stayed at so far. The link appears inaccurate in claiming this will be the first IHG venture in J&K - i believe the current Lalit Grand was for some time flagged as an Intercontinental.
The CP in Kochi wasn't on my radar, so thanks for highlighting it!
Yeah I really cannot say enough about this place, and indeed IC Chennai. Reminds me I need write some stuff about that in the IC Chennai thread.
I hope I'm not steering folks wrong. I'm usually wary about waxing too much as you can then hear a counter opposite set of emotions. But I think if anyone is disappointed here then they have standards and expectations way above me, and I like my comforts and special treatment. I found both locations to be utterly first class from top management to...well, everyone and near on every detail. The worst I can say about CP Kochi is that the road approaching the hotel is a little bumpy but then again so is a lot of India
I really hope IHG do recapture in initiative in this area. For my money and my limited number of hotels but several weeks there, I absolutely think this are ... with current product and with what I believe is the work and uplift that is in process.
