I am surprised that you pick Liverpool as the best NW Hampton though, I hate it and although I would stay there if necessary it has the old green/maroon drab design, a somewhat "festive" atmosphere in the public areas and brekky is a total zoo.

- swayed by the upgrade to the top floor front with a (sort of) view over Albert Dock, further impressed by a front office guy together with the maintenance man appearing at my door within minutes of reporting a problem.
And, yes, they did warn me to get to breakfast in its first hour! And by the second half of that hour things were getting a bit tight....
Blackburn is a delight I have yet to experience.
