Candidly, I don't think the typical American who feels they MUST fly FC is a candidate for Frontier in any seating configuration. The airline is just so inferior service-wise to the "major" airlines that you will inevitably be made unhappy flying them.

As a status matched Diamond, I automatically get access to the exit row seats. I usually fly with my wife and we book "A and C" or "D and F." About 80% of the time, the middle seat stays free (no sane person would pay for a Frontier middle seat, so the flight has to be full for it to be taken). We do usually fly for $19 or $29, so we've mused about buying the extra seat, but since it's usually empty anyway, we haven't bothered figuring out the annoying mechanism to buy it.
