Arrived 11:45 for the 14.50 down to LHR. We allowed plenty of time for the 21.10 departure.
Very similar experience. Nice welcome with our bags weighed and prepared. I was annoyed Uber pulled a fast one again and added a £5 Manchester Airport drop off fee even though there isn’t one here! We used the address at 2 Old Wimslow Road. I’d have liked them to have explained this to me but their Help system is dire and actually I’m on holiday for 3 weeks now!
We had the 7 course lunch menu, a few champagne’s. All good quality. We partly did this to avoid theT3 experience and guess what! Security nearly ruined the start to our trip!
Our incoming arrived on time taxi ing right in front of our window at 13.50. A group of 4 also on same flight left around then, but didn’t see them leave in car till 14.05. Seemed odd! We were then taken, and both our carry ones had secondary screenings. A slow process swabbing various things. The machine kept saying code C56 or 46 on one of ours so we had a load of secondary questions. Got in car 14.20. The gate technically closes at 14.30! Wasn’t the usually suited people I recall in the Aether Limo. But the 2 security people in yellow jackets! We faster than normal, to the point it was really fast! They had to use a tunnel near T3 which wasn’t the normal route to a void being delayed further by aircraft.
Arrived around 14.30. Had to enter other side of biometrics to scan faces and They were just starting Group 4, They did walk us to G1 by 143. Air bridge broke so down steps only front aircraft had steps so bit of a queue!
We did make it but what a dash!
Not a great experience, any reason they only do security as you are leaving? Seems a bit odd.
