You earn PQP based on the date of the charge, so any donation made prior to 1/1/2025 will not give you PQP towards next year's qualification.
The change-over in PQP earning rates I assume occurs on 1/1/205.

Trading PP for PQP is not possible right now and, apparently, will only be doable sometime in 2025 -- we don't know when.
The only other way to get PQP is to fly. There are reports of people booking a flight, paying for the Accelerator to get the bonus RDM and PQP, then cancelling the flight. I've never done it though and cannot positively confirm.
3. I see a ton of social media ads for places like point.me and similar (I also have a gob of AMEX miles) --- is there a really good source for optimizing value of these points online or should I just come back to flyertalk... which is pretty cumbersome at times.
You ask this on the UA board?!?
There are plenty of sites. One Mile At A Time and View from the Wing are my go-tos but, again, others will chime in I'm sure.
