Maybe it's not possible, but you could always ask the hotel to change the Bonvoy number associated with the reservation when you check in. I don't think they care who gets the points/nights credit.
That only works if it's a cash reservation. You can't change the name on a points or FNA reservation. If it's a cash reservation, just say that your wife will be paying with her credit card so by Marriott rules, she should be the one getting points for the stay.
