ITA doesn't fly to YUL IIRC. So I wonder what AC's view would be in the context of an overall CAN/NA-Italy service would look like.
- Would AC subsidize ITA to operate YUL-FCO?
- Can AC redeploy the second YYZ-FCO aircraft on another route? YVR, YYC, NAP, etc?
Take AC's agreement with Swiss as an example. Swiss runs YUL-ZRH, YUL-GEN year round (and YYZ-ZRH seasonally). While AC runs the YYZ-ZRH route.
ITA's TATL network is going to be ex-FCO for the foreseeable future. So the question would be what other Canadian destinations would they be interested in? YUL, YVR? AC on the other hand already has a well developed network from their two main TATL hubs (YYZ, YUL) and hits the main ITA destinations (FCO, MXP, VCE, NAP) in some way. So the trick is how to divide that service between the two airlines
