yeah this doesnt make any sense. you are already at the departure area. i cant think of any good reason other than you messed up or was stuck in the toilet. either way, you will be making your way to the counter and hoping that you could save as much of the fare.

i recall a case where the passenger’s driver’s license was from the layover state, so the agent suspected that the guy was gonna skiplag.
