I was literally just booking SFO-EDI for April, and saw on Google Flights the double daily A388. Sad to see the 77W and CS go. Will likely book on *A, now sigh.
Interesting - I was originally on a B789 from SFO - LHR on 11/04/25 (booked at T-355). It then (briefly!) changed to a 77W which I was quite pleased about as this comes with CS instead of 'old' CW.

However, with uncharacteristic luck, the change to the A380 has opened up F award availability for my redemption booking, and SeatSpy pulled through with an instant alert which I was able to act on.

I was already in F on the LHR-LAX leg, and having paid 'full' (i.e. non-RFS taxes and fees) for an F outbound and J return already, I now have F return for only an extra £55 or so in taxes plus £70 change fee. More than offset by the refund for the seats I'd paid for when the booking was originally a B789.

While broadly I would agree this is not a welcome change, in my particularly unique circumstances it has ended being a good thing - assuming nothing goes tech etc! Had the F reward availability not opened up I too would be lamenting the change.
