I have stayed at Andaz before, nice but it really is just not as lux as GHT. Toranomon Hills is still too business central and not enough fun things to do as a tourist, maybe that'll change in a few years but who knows.

I'm a sucker for GHT's Frette bedsheets, nightly turndown service, and the location. I've had several positive experiences at GHT in the past, so hopefully this was just a one time thing and they'll acknowledge it nicely when I write to them about it. As someone in CS industry, I am pretty forgiving on these missteps and believe in providing constructive criticism.
