Looked at SEA-LHR ~1.5 months out. BA metal and I prefer the later flight. The difference between AS and BA/AA marketed is $2.5k. The earlier flight is closer with a difference of just $200.

~2 month out, AS difference reaches a staggering $8.4k. Is AS selling full fare J or something? :S

This just isn't competitive and I don't understand how anyone at AS expects to sell these tickets. We get some leeway in choosing a preferred flight if it is $200 for international long haul, but it doesn't extend to $2k. Is it possible that this is working as intended? AS expects to sell very few of these and end up paying out less EQM/RDM?
