In looking at sticking with LT PPro/Emerald after I get it next year, we'd be giving up both of us getting EXP each year. We'd be losing the EXP desk, which I value.
And we might have one of us (likely mrs. brp) seek IB Oro/Sapphire status for domestic lounge access.
Is there any disadvantage for only one of us having the OWE status (we've both had it for a long time now)? We buy J for longer flights, so upgrades there are not a problem. Shorter flights we will buy coach and do get upgrades, but not a biggie. I don't recall if the higher status applies to both passengers on the PNR in these cases.
Is there anything I'm forgetting about with only one of us having the OWE status? I do know that only one of us needs the non-AA/AD OWS status for lounge access as we've never both had to show our status.

f you travel together on same PNR - then your higher benefits convey to that lower level companion.
1. Your companion will get positioned just below you on the upgrade list - irregardless of there status (even if no status).
2. You can guest 1 person into the business and First lounges - so their status doesn't matter.
3. They get the same boarding group as you.
4. They get same baggage allowance as you.
5. They access priority check in with you.
6. They get MCE with you at time of ticketing.
7. On International Partner carriers - they also get Emerald seating with you - the most forward rows within a class of service.
Now dropping down to PlatPro will give you the above, upgrades will be harder - as all the new Lifetime EXPs will be ahead of you - even if they don't earn many LPs.
EXP's that still earn EXP - won't be impacted by the new LT EXPs unless they are flying and earning EXP LPs and more.
