Here to balance out the negativity with a positive story. I had a VIE-ATH-SKG-ATH-BER itinerary on the weekend and all segments apart from VIE-ATH cleared at booking. I was monitoring the VIE-ATH leg and there were 4 seats available in J right up to OLCI. Just as OLCI opened, I saw that I class had been released so I rang A3 only to be told that my ticket had already been upgraded and an email sent. I’m still waiting for the email but I travelled in J and all flights posted correctly to my account, which also sorted my Gold renewal. Sometimes it does work seamlessly. As an aside, the VIE-ATH flight went out with 1 free seat in Y and 3 in J so it was really busy.
