The Islamic Art Museum is walking distance of those-- on the Corniche.
Also the National Museum is maybe 15 minute walk from the Islamic Art museum (both are great!) going oposite of the Souq.
I used the metro and it was awesome-- quick, clean and by the sites-- easy to access from the airport also. Buy a metro card upon arrival and it is loaded for 5 trips for 20 Quatai Riyal.
You can easily do both museums in a day.
There is also 3-2-1 Sport museum-- take the metro.
You can buy a 99 Quatari Riyal pass (ask when buying a ticket) and it is basically 3 for the price of 2.
You can also take the metro to Mall of Qatar.
I took a pass on the Pearl area-- if you go it is a taxi or a metro then a bus.
The National Library is awesome.
Enjoy Doha-- I found it very friendly, clean, modern. People were very helpful.
I believe there is also a Paper Version of a One Day Pass at 6 QR for unlimited metro ride for the day till 1am or so when the metro stops running. The 10 QR card is for the cost of the card then you load additional money for rides each costs 2 QR as you alluded. But that does not have time limit only the number of the rides at 2 QR per ride. However the 10 QR cost for the card is not refundable. It is good for people pass Doha frequent, but not for tourists who only visit Doha once then may / may not visit again for several years.

Are you sure the National Museum is only 15 min walk from the Museum of Islamic Art?

I forgot about The National Library. Looks like need to visit that too.

Not sure what exactly worthy to see at The Pearl other than an upscale residential development?

If I could manage the time I actually want to see the Place Vendome Mall, just for the architecture part of it. Reviews are positive from what I can find.
