In spite of what the customer service rep told me, I do have a sneaking suspicion that the 22" Aurora is larger than 22” with the wheels and handle factored in. Which is reinforced by elricstorm’s comment. Personally, I'd never buy a bag that wouldn’t fit in a sizer without question.
Take a look at Travelpro’s FlightCrew5 21" Rollaboard which should measure at about 22.5” with wheels and handle. I think the FlightCrew series, while perhaps not as robust as LW, is a cut above Travelpro's consumer models.
As for me, I'm going to punt on this decision for a few years. I just replaced the wheels on my cheapie 12-year-old Delsey Helium 22x14x9 rollaboard. It’s <7 pounds and flexible enough to cram into smaller international sizers.
