Huh. I haven't rented at BWI for 6 or 7 years. I guess it didn't leave an impression on me. These days I am either going into DC itself so I fly to DCA and either Metro or Uber, or I fly to Dulles for everywhere else.

I know that PHL isn't consolidated, I just threw that in as an honorable mention. But I disagree with your "very easily" assertion. Those locations were not intended to be accessed on foot from the terminal, have no posted directions, walkways or crosswalks, and if I remember correctly - at least for National you have to climb over a Jersey barrier. Or you can take the grand tour of the airport roadways via bus and spend almost 10 minutes to basically get across the street from where you started.
