My other point was that AA has contradictions galore on their website, so I do not put much faith in the verbiage as being accurate. Additionally, AA has refused access to Flagship checkin on AA flights for me and many others on this thread. It's a wildly inconsistent and poorly run service.
Is this on originating or connecting? At JFK, AA has always refused to check me in for a BA flight when BA reps aren't there, telling me to go to the BA desk. I'm unsure if this is a real or perceived limitation or not - have you been able to get checked in by AA when directly departing (and not connecting to) a different airline?
