So AA wants me to book a 25 minute connection at PHX. I guess this must be legal, but... it's insane. E175 arriving 19:55 connecting to mainline A321 leaving at 20:20. 15 minutes to switch gates or spend a night in PHX and IDG next day. No, I'm not going to book it. STL-SAN itinerary, I have to find another airline that has reasonable F prices (and one stop). Everything with AA is either 40 minutes or less layover or more than 2.5 hours, and/or twice as expensive if I want to leave after 6 AM. This is why I'm a free agent. Most of the time AA has made sense even after losing the hub, but I'm finding that happens less and less every year.
