And just looking up JL’s continental US flights from HND: JFK, SFO, LAX (obvious, the three biggest markets) and DFW and ORD, which are good-sized markets but ones that I can’t imagine being JL’s next choices without the AA joint venture.

As someone who was a director of corporate sales for a major US Airline until recently, this is bologna. Every contract AA has, AS has. They’re not blanket agreements. AA may have a contract with a company for domestic flying offering 5% off Y fares but AS will also have an agreement for 10% off fares between their corporate HQ and SEA or UA will have a specific contract for 7% off international J fares, etc.
