1) Many years ago flying LAX to DFW - don’t remember which airline, but probably AA - we were delayed about 3 hours waiting for the Texas Rangers baseball team to complete an extra innings game in Anaheim. Apparently back then they flew commercial and many of the players were in coach!

2) A few years back flying LAX-DFW-SAT on American, the entire air traffic control system in the region went down. Delayed several hours at the gate (door still open). Found out later the cause was a U2 spy plane flying somewhere in the region. Apparently the flight parameters of the U2 were so out of normal that the air traffic control system “freaked out”. Wasn’t completely clear what part of “the system” was down.
