IHG Upgrades Rant. Even if staying at IHG 20+ nights, still question the benefits at $1,000.00 price tag. HI Express breakfast included and HI/Crowne Plaza room upgrades are nothing to brag about. Never ever got a suite upgrade at an Intercontinental -- seems reserved for AMB. In fact, never got a decent upgrade from any Intercontinental, had to drag it out like a tooth from a receptionist, any upgrade. That, I don't understand, if the room is free for the night of arrival, it costs exactly nothing to give the upgrade.

Rather than IHG benefits, might book via Hotels.com and get a chunk of cashback.

No points purchase. Their loss of business.
