At one stage, well before the Pandemic, HAL were handing out leaflets and similar merchandising with a Rewards card either stuck or printed into the leaflet. You could then anonymously collect Points without being registered. You could only do this with the bit of cardboard or card in question, without then going online to register that card (as one was supposed to do). If HAL sent you the durable card, or it's via the App, then you would be registered. Apparently quite a few of these are still being regularly used, hence the message.
