Hotel Twenty Seven Amsterdam

I stayed here December 5th through the 8th. For comparison's sake I've been to the Conrads in NYC and Tulum, The WA Park City, Cabo, BH,and DC, and the Park Hyatts in Paris and DC. I stayed on Hilton points on standard awards and paid $400 for an upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite. By far this was the nicest stay I've had and best value I've gotten of all of the aforementioned locations.

Firstly pre arrival the hotel reached out about concierge related needs and offered the upgrade. I also had a situation where some expiring FNCs became available, where they worked with the diamond desk to adjust inventory so I could use them instead of points. They were quite new to Hilton at the time and it was a bit of an ordeal, but they never wavered in helping to resolution with a smile.

On arrival from the awful US east coast red eyes they welcomed us and invited us to enjoy breakfast which they included with the stay. The room was ready around 2pm and magnificent and directly faced Dam square. Huge jacuzzi tub for two, a large walk in steam shower with dual rain and wand shower heads. Both the shower, vanity and tub, featured two choices of individual use toiletries in a they/them setup. Suffice it to say if you like a dark moody aesthetic, this hotel and the bathroom setup will make for a very romantic stay for a couple.

A very very special shout out to the staff as my companion had a bit of a medical emergency overnight. They came to the room and helped us navigate the dutch EMS system and continued to assist as she recovered. They got me room service lunch and billed it as my breakfast for the day and assisted with getting some OTC meds. The room was able to be completely blacked out and allowed us to sleep and recover from the long night. Of course as we resumed our visit, everyone on staff knew what had happened and were quite kind about it.

Overall, I can not say enough good things about this hotel. I've not been to the WA to compare, but given the slightly more central location, I'd strongly pick this over that if both were available.
