I have a somewhat special situation and would appreciate any advice. I’ve been a road warrior for the last ten years, consistently crushing the DM requirements. That’s all changing now; my wife was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and I’m doing a big career pivot to be home consistently.

Despite having shut down travel in July, I’m at >68k MQDs, with 60k of that from flights. So DM achieved. Going forward I expect work travel to be no more than 10%, and personal flights to be around $10k/year. Our personal travel is generally 1-2 trips each to Europe and APAC, as well as a half dozen or so domestic flights. My wife and I have been fortunate in our careers and always WFBF, so upgrades are irrelevant.

I have roughly 450,000 rollover MQMs.

Offhand, converting to RDMs seems like a no-brainer, particularly given I’ve earned 2025 DM anyway.

OTOH, an additional 3 years of DM past 2025 could be appealing for the choice benefits, which assuming nothing changes are worth almost as much as the upfront RDM conversion. Continued diamond line access could also be useful.

Are there any addition considerations I should take into account?
