I know that you can only get a transit hotel if the layover is greater than 9 hours in J, and only if that is the shortest layover. But do you have to choose the shortest layover if the shortest is greater than 9 hours? Looking at EWR-IST-STR, shortest layover is 14 hours, but is more expensive than the 20 hour layover. Can I chose the 20 hour and still get the hotel?

EDIT: I need to read more, I see someone asked that two posts above.

If I plan on using the Stopover service on the return, will I run into trouble with that?

Also for the Stopover if I do an Open Jaw EWR-STR-JFK would that eliminate my stopover eligibility?
