I'm UK based and about to lose Diamond status due to the withdrawal of the UK IHG credit card.
As I wasn't going to get anywhere near 120,000 I stopped chasing qualifying points this year and only have 5,000.

Just had email from IHG with an offer to buy 115,000 points for $980. I'd need a lot of free breakfasts to make that worthwhile I think.
